The Logo Company Case Study
BeFit4Riding
Introduction
Befit4riding will be providing fitness and conditioning training for people of all fitness levels and body types including online fitness consultation and program design.
The target audience is female motorcycle riders (chic riders) of all kinds (Harley/chopper, sport bike, wannabe racers/track day enthusiasts, dirt bike riders and fans of motorcycle racing too).
The logo is to have a funky feeling with anime style avatar design. The use of unlimited colors has been approved. The company slogan is “Creating fit healthy bodies for chic riders who rock!”
They would like to use the following strategy for the logo design:
A lot of chic or girl riders in the riding and racing community and programs are generally targeted for the boys, this one for is specifically for the girls who ride and rock and rule. I am not graphically gifted but I was thinking something like a "cute" sport bike in the centre with the company name bent around it and two little chic rider looking girls (cute blonde avatar doll or anime style, one larger body type one and one smaller one to kind of show I would service all body types doing some type of activity)?? Might be too busy but it’s an idea.
The Design Process
The first thing that happens when we receive a new business logo design order is to get all our design team together for a brain storming meeting and start shooting ideas. There are a minimum of 3 designers per project. Some clients feel that having one designer is better as “Too many cooks…” and others believe “The more the merrier”, but projects can have more or less designers depending on the client. The designers will have a meeting and each logo designer will come up with design concepts to be worked upon by the group. This is also when they may ask the client for additional information. This is the creative stage and leads to the design of unique concepts.
Initial Concepts
By day three the designers will be sending out the initial concepts of the company logo design. These designs are presented to another designer (team leader of another business logo design project) for inspection and approval. The selected logo designs are then provided to the client for viewing and they can provide any revision instructions for each of the designs.
Client Feedback
The client takes as long as they need to review the designs and think of any revisions they feel are necessary. When they are ready to move forward the client will provide us the instructions to carry out.
The client replied with the comment:
“Hi There, I want to move forward with the 3rd design with these modifications:
1. logo design changes: take the wheel of the right side and instead integrate in the front end of a sport bike (motorcycle) with a visible helmet with a blonde ponytail sticking out, maybe a red bike with a black and red helmet and blonde ponytail? Then the little flame like at the front end of the design... (Sport bikes are racing models like the Suzuki gsxr 600 (look on the Suzuki bike website) or any motorcycle road racer website to get an idea...head down...kind of position.
2. I like the kickboxing girl and flame image...very nice and the lettering is very clear, please make sure it will work on a vinyl decal too, since it will be displayed on race motorcycles and transport vehicles as well as on patches and t-shirts....again CHANGE the Yellow to a bright yellow color”
The client decided to focus on a single design. The client’s comments are passed on to the design team and they begin implementing the client’s instructions.
We aim to have the revised design/s back with the client in 3 business days.
