Introduction
Befit4riding will be providing fitness and conditioning training for people of all fitness levels and body types including online fitness consultation and program design.
The target audience is female motorcycle riders (chic riders) of all kinds (Harley/chopper, sport bike, wannabe racers/track day enthusiasts, dirt bike riders and fans of motorcycle racing too).
The logo is to have a funky feeling with anime style avatar design. The use of unlimited colors has been approved. The company slogan is “Creating fit healthy bodies for chic riders who rock!”
They would like to use the following strategy for the logo design:
A lot of chic or girl riders in the riding and racing community and programs are generally targeted for the boys, this one for is specifically for the girls who ride and rock and rule. I am not graphically gifted but I was thinking something like a "cute" sport bike in the centre with the company name bent around it and two little chic rider looking girls (cute blonde avatar doll or anime style, one larger body type one and one smaller one to kind of show I would service all body types doing some type of activity)?? Might be too busy but it’s an idea.

Final Selection
The Design Process
The first thing that happens when we receive a new business logo design order is to get all our design team together for a brain storming meeting and start shooting ideas. There are a minimum of 3 designers per project. Some clients feel that having one designer is better as “Too many cooks…” and others believe “The more the merrier”, but projects can have more or less designers depending on the client. The designers will have a meeting and each logo designer will come up with design concepts to be worked upon by the group. This is also when they may ask the client for additional information. This is the creative stage and leads to the design of unique concepts.
Initial Concepts
By day three the designers will be sending out the initial concepts of the company logo design. These designs are presented to another designer (team leader of another business logo design project) for inspection and approval. The selected logo designs are then provided to the client for viewing and they can provide any revision instructions for each of the designs.

Initial Concept 5 |
In the email we send to the client with the initial concepts we also explain about the colors used by our design teams as we do not use RGB (Red, Green, Blue) color palette but instead the professional Pantone color palette.
The RGB color scheme is used on TV's, computer monitors and home/office printers. The Pantone color scheme is the industry standard and all professional printers use this color scheme as it has greater variety of pre-mixed colors for a consistent corporate look.
We also direct the client to available Fonts from the online library at Adobe (we stock most of the Adobe fonts). Here the client can choose a font which appeals to them.
Client Response
The client takes as long as they need to review the designs and think of any revisions they feel are necessary. When they are ready to move forward the client will provide us the instructions to carry out.
The client replied with the comment:
“Hi There,
I want to move forward with the 3rd design with these modifications:
1. logo design changes: take the wheel of the right side and instead integrate in the front end of a sport bike (motorcycle) with a visible helmet with a blonde ponytail sticking out, maybe a red bike with a black and red helmet and blonde ponytail? Then the little flame like at the front end of the design... (Sport bikes are racing models like the Suzuki gsxr 600 (look on the Suzuki bike website) or any motorcycle road racer website to get an idea...head down...kind of position.
2. I like the kickboxing girl and flame image...very nice and the lettering is very clear, please make sure it will work on a vinyl decal too, since it will be displayed on race motorcycles and transport vehicles as well as on patches and t-shirts....again CHANGE the Yellow to a bright yellow color”
The client decided to focus on a single design. The client’s comments are passed on to the design team and they begin implementing the client’s instructions.
We aim to have the revised design/s back with the client in 3 business days.
1st Set of Revisions
These are the designs which the design team prepared for the client to view and from here the client will decide which design/s they would like move forward with:
Concept 3a |
Concept 3b |
Concept 3c |
The client responded to these designs with the following comments:
“I would have to say that the first one is the best but still needs changes, as follows:
1. The color of the bike and the kickboxing girl: it looks like the two images were just kind of thrown together and don't quite match up, I think we need to add a little bit of color to the kick boxer to match up with the bike, since the bike looks pretty nice. (Can you make one where the colors match up and a second one so I can see with both the bike and kick boxer in silhouette? I think I would prefer the color for both like the bike but I would like to see it both ways.) The rider and kick boxer are also still slightly disproportional but not too badly.
2. What is up with the ponytail? It looks like it was tacked on, is way too short (it is a girl after all) and is in the wrong location. The ponytail should be a long flowing ponytail so we can showcase the fact that it is a GIRL. The ponytail on the rider looks like it is coming out of a hole in the helmet; instead it should be coming from where the helmet meets the shoulder/back (flowing down the back). The rider and the KB are the same girl (she is getting in shape for riding) so there should also be a long ponytail on the kick boxer to match. Now, granted, you could say that she is looking directly at the viewer, so that you wouldn't see it, however, if she is kicking out towards the right of the page, then she should be looking where she is kicking, which would give a profile view of her head. And you would be able to see the ponytail.
3. The logo and the "speed" lines. Get rid of the speed lines over the "g" in riding, distracts from the name of the company. Also the bike is coming out from BEHIND the words but the "speed" lines are in FRONT of the words. They should be BEHIND the words.
Okay...I think that's it for now.”
Once again the designs are passed back to our design team who implement the client’s request. The length of the design process depends entirely upon the number of revision rounds requested by the client. Each revision round can take up to 3 days for the designs to be sent back to the client.
2nd Set of Revisions
This is the design which the design team prepared for the client to view and from here the client will decide if they would like more revisions or if they would like to have the design finalized:
Concept 3a.1 |
Concept 3a.2 |
The client responded to these designs with the following comments:
“Hi,
1. The ponytail still looks too tiny on both the kick boxer and the biker. It needs to be a longer flowing ponytail (the hair length should be down to the middle of her back).
2. The yellow color on riding is still not bright enough....it should be more yellow.
Please adjust these two things today on both images so I can make a final decision. Thanks for a speedy response.”

3rd Set of Revisions
This is the design which the design team prepared for the client to view and from here the client will decide if they would like more revisions or if they would like to have the design finalized.
Concept 3a.3 |
Concept 3a.4 |
The client responded to these designs with the following comments:
“Okay, let's go forward with the first one.
Thanks so much!”
After receiving the green light from the client the design team would normally begin to prepare the final pack for the client but as this is a logo and Stationary project, the design team begin preparing the initial stationary concepts.
Initial Stationary Concepts
This can take up to 3 business days but the designs are generally sent out much quicker as the style, color scheme and other design elements have already been determined during the logo design process.
If the client requires the logo pack, we can send these out but for the logo ad stationary packages we send all the files out in the final pack so as to provide easy access for the client when they require them in the future.
Here are the initial stationary concepts:
Initial Stationary Concept A |
Initial Stationary Concept B |

Initial Stationary Concept C |
Initial Stationary Concept D |
As with the logo design the client takes as long as they need to review the designs and think of any revisions they feel are necessary. When they are ready to move forward the client will provide us the instructions to carry out.
The client responded with the following information:
“I would like to see modifications to two of these files Concept 1:
Get rid of the gray color (hate it), change it to black
Balance out the little kick boxer with adding in a small biker (rider) image on the right edge of the page in black and in yellow on the left edge of the page
Change the color of the print to white on the black side of the page and red on the yellow side of the page (or maybe white on both depending on how it looks)
Put the same color block image on the top of the page but don't put the kick boxer and biker, instead put the logo as a whole in the centre (centred over the white break line)
On the card and stationery:
Only put the phone number in once (voicemail icon only)
Change the website to: befit4riding.com (take out the http://)
Make sure the color block image does not take up half of the card, just on the bottom or top and bottom
Concept2:
Get rid of the greyscale image
Add in the same color swoosh on the bottom of the page
Change the color of the print and images on the bottom of the page to yellow (not in white boxes like the attachment. This is just a general idea)
On the card and stationery:
Only put the phone number in once (voicemail icon only)
Change the website to: befit4riding.com (take out the http://)
Thanks so much!”
We aim to have the revised design/s back with the client in 3 business days.
1st Stationary Design Revisions
This is the design which the design team prepared for the client to view and from here the client will decide if they would like more revisions or if they would like to have the design finalized:
Concept A1 |
Concept B1 |
The client responded with the following information:
“More suggestions to see on the first design
On the stationery:
I would like to see this same version but with bolder font YELLOW writing on the bottom print information. Also make one like this but make the white writing with a bolder font ( I want to compare the two colors). The bottom design looks like the red is a different color so please check that it matches up (it looks too pink on the bottom) (all the colors red, yellow and black should be the same as in the logo). Also make one version where on the bottom of the page only put the little kick boxer in white on the black corner and the little motorcycle in black on the red corner of the design
On the card:
My name the color is too pinkish... should be the same red as the "fit" in the logo
Change the color of the other print to a true black (it looks greyish)
I would also like to see versions of the card with a black background on the bottom of the card where the writing is printed and a yellow background (whole card )besides the white background
so please send along an A, B and C version
On the Envelope:
make the swoosh a little wider and add it to the other side of the envelope too
make sure all the print colors match up to the logo
On Everything:
the address needs to be changed
My title needs to be changed to
Owner
Certified Personal Fitness Trainer/Nutrition Consultant
On the second design:
On Everything:
Make sure the colors match up to the logo colors (the same red, yellow white and black)
On Everything:
the address needs to be changed
My title needs to be changed to
Owner
Certified Personal Fitness Trainer/Nutrition Consultant
On the Stationery:
one more version in addition to this one with the logo at the top right hand corner in the yellow part of the color block image and one with the logo framed in white and placed in the centre of the color block
On the Envelope:
put the two little motorcycle rider silhouettes on the top and bottom of the side design and make sure the black and yellow are even
On the Cards:
On both the A and B cards, make the white writing bolder on the print
Thanks so much”
The client’s comments are passed on to the design team and they begin implementing the client’s instructions.
2nd Stationary Design Revisions
Our design team having implemented the client’s requests provided the following design:
Concept A1.a |
Concept B1.a |
The client responded with the following information:
“Great, please prepare the 2nd design C.
Final Pack
We normally get the final pack out to the client in a day or so. The final files are sent to the client as a .zip file.
The final pack sent to the client, includes the following file types and formats;
We can also create specific file types for clients if requested and if possible.
At this stage we introduce our client to the wide variety of services available to our customers. These services include (and are not limited to) stationary design, web design, flyers, brochures, postcards and we can even design data sheets and web banners.
We create our designs using Adobe Illustrator the industry standard. If a client would like to edit the logo themselves they would require this software. We are always on hand though to make changes later if required for a small fee.
