Logo Design Help and FAQ

Some areas you may need help with:

Frequently asked Questions

Q. How many concepts do I get?

A. The package is a minimum of 3 concepts (we usually over deliver and 3 is the bare minimum). This includes UNLIMITED free revision rounds for your chosen concept.

Q. If I do not like the 3 logo concepts...will you make me a new set?

A. It is extremely unlikely that you will like nothing about any of your 3 concepts. If you gave plenty of information on the order form then it is down to us to get close to that. If we miss the mark by a mile then we will take responsibility for that. If you gave little information then you can use your revision rounds to fine tune one of the designs already presented to you. That is why it is so important to give as much detail on the order form as you can. The more information that you give us the more responsibility you pass to us. We are fair and we are honest and at the close of play we want you to have had a good experience with our service.

Q. Can you supply Vector format?

A. Yes. We supply your custom logo design in EPS (Encapsulated Post Script) as standard for no extra cost. This is a vector based file format used by print shops and it allows the design to be resized with no loss of quality.

Q. What is a logo revision?

A. This is a very common question. The answer can be summarized as follows.

1. If you change your mind about any minor aspect of your logo...be it a color change, a font change, use of shadow etc..or any other minor change once you have actually had your logo delivered. This is called a logo revision. You can in fact make several minor changes and call that one revision, providing it is requested at the same time. To do this just send us an email and tell us what you want to change. If you have accepted the design and then require a change later on we do charge a small fee for that.

2. What is NOT a revision is if you want to have an entirely new logo designed. This can be charged at the normal fee of the original logo (depends on whether we missed the mark or you have changed your mind). Confused.....JUST ASK US!

Q. What is your delivery time?

A. We strive to deliver all initial logo choices within 3 working days and revisions not longer than 2 business days. (In very busy periods these times may stray so please just drop us a line if you think we are taking too long).

Q. How do you deliver my new logo?

A. All new logo orders are emailed to you in a ZIP file. If you do not have a Zip program on your PC we can send the files unzipped...just be sure to tell us. The best thing to do however is to download the free trial version of winzip from http://www.winzip.com

Q. What can I use my new logo for?

A. The world is your oyster as far as uses go. The logo can be used for a website, off-line printing, embedding in documents, printing on T shirts, signs, banners, stationery, lunch box in fact the only real limitation is your imagination.

Q. What about Copyright..Who owns it?

A. You do. We even supply it to you in grayscale so that you can register it at a trademark organization. You are however completely 100% responsible for any copyright issues that may arise as a result of using our logo design services. It is your responsibility to investigate any possibilities of copyright infringement. There are companies set up to help you do this. We link to one or two through our Directory (link at bottom of page). The Logo Company can not be held responsible for any issues that may arise after delivery is made.

Q. Can my logo have a see through background?

A. Yes...This is called a transparency. You will need to specify this at the time of ordering. Please also note that the quality of the finish is nearly always lower with a transparent Gif. We always include PSD, Tiff and JPG formats as well. It is often better to specify the correct background color as the quality is far higher than that of a transparent Gif if the logo is for web use.

Q. You mention that I need to specify several things at the time of ordering...How can I do this?

A. Our intuitive order form answers most of these questions for you. However, there is a section on the order form that allows you to give us any additional information. This is the area to make your requests for colors, file types, unique things we should consider when making your logo. It really is simple to complete. If you do get into trouble filling it out we are only a click away from providing you with support.

Q. How can you provide this service for such a low price?

A. Our logo design service makes no profit. This is called a loss leader product. We do this so that you will be confident to try us out and sample the quality. We would love to have you as a client for life and have you buy all your graphic design services and professional printing from us. This way we both benefit from the deal long term.

Q. Can the background of the logo be any other color than white?

A. Yes. Infact, if you tell us the HEX or Pantone number of the background color you want or at least give us a sample to match against, then we will provide the new logo with that exact color background. You can give us this information at the time of ordering.

We can also supply the logo with no background color at all. This is best for websites with colored backgrounds. This file format is called Transparent GIF or transparent PSD and you can ask for this at the time of ordering. If your logo is for off-line printing then the best choice is standard with our logo pack anyway and that is High Rez Tiff. No need to specify that because you get it delivered anyway.

Q. Do you have any examples you can show me?

A. Yes...Take a look by clicking here.

Q. Can you recreate my existing logo in vector format?

A. The simple answer is yes...BUT..the price very much depends on the complexity of the existing design. We can generally do this work in the same time it takes for our usual design which is around 3 working days. However, sometimes it may take longer. Send us an email with a copy of the logo you need to recreate and we will provide you with a very competetive quote.

Q. Do you provide Color Separations or Camera Ready Artwork?

A. Yes, it is the eps file format that we send you as standard. The best thing for you to do is to make sure that the printer can produce the color separation file from the EPS file that we supply. We use Adobe Illustrator Version 10 default post script level 2.
